- Vilmorina Sorbus vilmorinii, sprinkled with pink fruits, is a 3-5 m tall shrub, occupying little space in the garden. Unripe fruits are red.

- Sorbus domestica rowan fruits are shaped like small apples or pears. They are suitable for wine or flavoring vodka.

- Rowan 'Edulis' has edible, large fruits, containing a lot of vitamin C, little tannins and perfect for preserves.

Rowan in the natural environment

The tree with feathery leaves can be found all over Europe in the fields, edges and clearings of mixed and coniferous forests. There is a mountain subspecies of rowan in the Tatra Mountains. The plant is worth paying attention to because it has the form of a bush.It spreads along the upper montane zone and reaches the kosówka layer, very often accompanying mountain pine bushes. A subspecies called Sudeten rowan grows in the Sudetes, which only occurs here, i.e. it is an endemic plant.
