Bees - what else can we do for them?

Table of contents

Already Albert Einstein claimed that if the bees died out - the human species would only survive for 3 or 4 years. These small, inconspicuous creatures are of enormous, invaluable importance to our ecosystem! They pollinate nearly 80% of flowers and crops, which affects their development and growth, increases the quality and quantity of crops and contributes to the biodiversity of the environment. Thanks to these little workers, our diet is rich and varied. We do not realize that in order to pollinate a plant effectively, a bee must return to it at least 20 times. One insect in its entire life produces a teaspoon of honey. To create a kilogram of this antibacterial delicacy with numerous he alth properties - bees have to sit on flowers about 4 million times! Let us respect and care for bees.

In recent years, the number of beeshas significantly decreased, which is a very disturbing phenomenon.Whole swarms are dying out. This is due to the increasingly difficult environmental conditions: the concentration of heavy metals in the soil (mercury, copper and lead) and the widespread use of chemicals in agriculture (artificial plant protection products, excessive fertilization). Wild dumps with heaps of garbage pollute the soil, water and air. In turn, waves of cellular telephony disrupt the bees' navigation system, making it difficult for them to return to the hive. What can we do to take care of the bees to the best of our ability?

Let us plant plants and create space for the pollinators to live!

On balconies and terraceslet's plant a variety of nectarious plantsflowering plants of the type: sage, marigold, chamomile yellow, thyme, chrysanthemum, fennel, coriander, summer love, tares field or lofty amaranth. Ideally, those that will bloom interchangeably - this will provide the bees with constant access to food. If we are the happy owners of even a piece of land - our own garden or plot - let us plant fruit trees and bushes, which will also be a source of food for bees. Honey-bearing trees include linden and acacia.Remember not to cut down old trees!Instead of perfect, manicured lawnslet's create flower meadows - they are much more useful for insects.

Let's be sensitive to the actions of local governments, let's raise social awareness.

M monitor the activities ofour housing communities, let us make people aware of the necessity to leave "wild", most natural places - they are insect-friendly. Let's give up artificial plant protection products in favor of natural ones in the form of compost, manure, or natural essential oils that are much safe for the environment. Let's build drinkers, houses and hives for bees.

Ifwe have our own apiary- let's reach for the gifts of nature to support honey bee breeding.

Honey bees are less active and age prematurely, which results in a decline in the colony's population. They should be exceptionally cared for and their diseases should be prevented in the most natural way possible. The use of essential oils in the breeding of honeybees is the safest method. These preparations evaporate easily at normal temperatures, leaving no traces on the products from the hive, which is very important.Toattract bees to a new hive- you can useOilViaAromalemongrass oil, which mimics a pheromone secreted by the queen bee in a honey bee colony. The essence is placed directly in the hive or in attractant traps. Lemongrass essential oil attracts worker bees, which then bring an entire colony of honeybees to the hive. This essence is also used to attract scout bees. In addition, lemongrass essential oil hasrelaxing propertieswhich is helpful in situations where the bees are restlessafter making changes to the colony structureTo make the grass bait lemony smells long enough, you should sprinkle a few drops of the oil on thick, absorbent paper, which will slowly release the aroma. This oil also has provenantiviral and antifungal propertiesThe same workstea tree oil , which is most commonly used for nourishment (2 drops are instilled on the comb in the hive or use a solution: half a glass of water, a teaspoon of sugar and 10 drops of oil).

What to do when bees get sick? It is best to use natural remedies instead of artificial preparations.

The most common nightmare of a beekeeper is varroosis, which causes bees to become apathetic, sluggish, and their young have obvious developmental defects. This is where manynatural essential oils from ViaAroma come in handy: clove, eucalyptus, thyme, rosemary and lemon. The oils are dripped into the hive or paper strips soaked in them are used.

Sometimes bees suffer from mycosis or saccular disease.Peppermint Oil ViaAroma(10 ml / 45 PLN) can then be given to sick bees in food (e.g. in sugar syrup or honey-sugar cake). A similar effect is demonstrated byViaAromathyme oil (10 ml / 54 PLN), which has strong bactericidal properties.

In ecological farms, essential oils are used prophylactically, even before bee diseases appear. They are used in summer and fall. When bees get sick - it is worth repeating the procedure in spring.

Prices of ViaAroma natural essential oils: 10 ml / 49 - 54 PLN.
