Geraniums with fragrant leaves (Recipe for the Garden)

Table of contents

I want to share with you my impressions about pelargonium. I usually hear a mockery that this has been a balcony hit for 30 years. Meanwhile, pelargonium has undergone great changes during this time. The we alth of varieties is truly amazing! I was fascinated by geraniums with fragrant leaves. Their flowers are not as good as standard specimens, but the leaves make up for these shortcomings.

I bought my first fragrant seedlings at the fair. The choice was huge, so I decided on several varieties. I bought a geranium 'Pino' with a pine scent and a 'Chocolate Peppermint' with a mint chocolate scent. My daughter chose the 'Cola' variety that smells of the popular fizzy drink and the apple 'Apple'.

There was also pelargonium with the scent of nuts, but it did not convince me with its qualities. The geranium with the scent of 'Rosa' was a hit. It's unbelievable, but she really smells like freshly cut rose flowers.

I use fragrant geraniums not only to decorate the balcony, but also in the kitchen.Candied leaves of these varieties are a real treat on my table! In addition, I recommend adding flakes to the curd, and the finely chopped leaves can be rubbed in butter. The taste sensations are truly unforgettable.

I would like to highlight another type of pelargonium - 'Bicolor Red'. It is a plant of a standard habit, i.e. upright, erect, with two-colored leaves and rich red flower balls. The leaves are greenish-silvery and have a beautiful white border. It is an additional decoration, even from a distance the balcony looks much more attractive than in the case of varieties with ordinary green leaves.
