We are the owners of Pusia, who loves lounging among the plants in our garden. In the beginning, it did us a little bit of damage. And she destroyed the emerging plants by rolling over them, and this she settled in the freshly loosened soil on a vegetable bed, and she hunted a bird. When Pusia grew up, there were also suitors who marked the area in different parts of our garden. So I want to write how we de alt with it.
- First of all, you need to pay attention to your cat and raise it. Before Pusia learned specific behaviors, however, we took remedial measures.
- We secured the trees, which our cat used to jump on, with special collars. From a thin plastic with an area of 1 m2, I cut a circle with a radius of 90 cm, and in the center another one with a radius matching the perimeter of the tree that I was securing. I cut the cut out collar. I made several such covers. I placed them on trees about a meter high from the ground. I formed them in the shape of cones widening downwards. This discouraged our pet from hunting.
- I moved the bird feeder to a less attractive place for the kitten and put it on a metal post.
- My wife secured the freshly sown plants with a tunnel made of spruce twigs, so that the seedlings had time to grow up.
- We also wanted to force Pusia to visit specific parts of the garden more often. And there my wife sowed catnip. Most cats love it because it contains cat pheromones.
- We scare off male cats with a special means bought in a pet store. It is effective but quite expensive. A 100 ml bottle costs PLN 70.
