Late summer gives us various flowers, shoots and fruits for decorative bouquets.
1. Materials needed to make a decorative bouquet: a garland of flexible shoots (the size of the bowl), twigs of ivy, heather, wild euonymus and rose
with fruit, sunflower lanterns, purple chrysanthemum flowers and Japanese maple leaves. We also need a large vase (a bowl), a thin copper wire and scissors.
2. We weave and tie ivy and tufts of heather to the wreath.
3. On the circumference of the wreath, we evenly place the twigs of euonymus and rose fruits.Add a bellows and tie everything with wire.
4. Place the decoration on a bowl filled with water.
5. Inside the wreath we put a dense bouquet of chrysanthemum flowers.
6. Thread the maple leaves on the wire, which we interweave between the flowers of the bouquet.
Pots and boxes made of plastic, composite materials or metal sheets have various colors. It doesn't necessarily have to be classic terracotta.Containers imitating the color of concrete or stone are becoming more and more popular.
Materials resistant to frost and UV radiation are the most valued and so light that even filled with earth can be easily moved.Recently, corten boxes have become fashionable.
Note: if the sheet surface has no protective layer, a rusty bloom appears on it.When washed by rain, it easily stains the floor.Over time, the steel becomes covered with a permanent patina, not rinsed by rainfall.
Horticulture and garden centers offer more and more ready-made plant arrangements. Most often, three or four specimens of different species can fit in one container. It is also possible to combine several varieties of one species, differing in color of flowers.
In this way, we can very easily and quickly decorate the terrace or balcony with attractive plantings also in autumn. These are most often flowering plants combined with deciduous plants. For example, the sedum plant with cranberry, muhlenbeckia and calamus makes a nice combination. In the classic version, they can be different types of heather.
Bees, bumblebees, butterflies and other insects need our support. They look for nectar and flower pollen in the garden, so we will help them best by growing the right plants in the beds.Warm days, even in late autumn, make useful insects active.
A bee-friendly potted garden on the balcony and terrace can create various perennials. We can choose from, among others varieties of sedum, various autumn asters, rudbeckia and gauras.Dahlias and zinnia with single flowers and sunflowers also grow well in containers.
