To get fleshy, juicy roots, harvest them after one year of cultivation, using the side roots for subsequent spring plantings.
Horseradish requires quite deep tillage. Roots should be planted as early as possible in spring, but it is good to encourage them to grow before planting. For this purpose, the roots are transferred from the cellar where they were stored to a room with a temperature of approx. 10 ° C. Then they are covered with moist sand to form new buds, which takes about 2 weeks.
If you want to obtain roots from which the lateral roots will not sprout along their entire length, the skin should be rubbed with a sharp cloth, skipping 2 - 3 cm sections in the upper and lower parts. In this way, we will remove the eyes from which lateral roots could grow.
The collection falls on X - XI. Horseradish is stored in mounds or in cellars.
