Decoration for flower beds
Leafy plants will decorate flower beds if we plant them in a balanced and thoughtful way, and what is important, do not overdo it with the quantity. Large-leaved perennials, like beautiful flowering specimens, look best when grown individually surrounded by plants of delicate habit. One large funkia looks beautiful, and its showy and often interestingly colored leaves attract general attention. The perennial bed can also be wonderfully decorated with other large-leaved plants, e.g. bergenia, rodgersja and Darmera peltata. Medium-sized leafy perennials, such as Stachys byzantina, Brunnera macrophylla, and Pulmonaria saccharata, look best in groups of five to nine plants, but can also cover larger areas.
The meaning of the colorThe colors of the leaves significantly affect the aura surrounding the bed. Beautifully cut, dark leaves of the 'Brunette' candlestick delight with a noble appearance and perfectly match perennials with white, bright blue, as well as light and dark pink flowers. The gray-green leaves of the woolly purgatory bring a Mediterranean atmosphere to the garden. They are protected against the effects of heat by a cover of delicate, soft hairs. Purgatory creates spectacular duets with narrow-leaved lavender.Flowers in shades of bright orange and dark pink, as well as white, pale pink and light yellow are suitable for gray-green plants. The yellow leaves of Heucher's 'Key Lime Pie' or Carex elata 'Aurea' sedge illuminate the shady corners of the garden, and on the yellow background of the leaves, white flowers appear much larger and brighter. Plants with leaves edged in white or decorated with a white pattern also have brightening properties. White and green specimens look particularly impressive in the company of plants with blue flowers.
