Required resources: shovel, spade, mortar bucket, stirrer, rammer, rubber mallet, gloves.Materials: concrete, mortar, steel mats, stone blocks.
1. The outline of the foundation is marked with a rope or a garden hose.
2.Use a spade to cut a groove along the contour of the foundation.
3. Use a shovel or spade to remove the soil to a depth of about 80 cm.
4. Attach a steel stabilizing mat to the walls of the excavation.
5. Concrete in a bucket is mixed with a mixer, poured into the trench and compacted with a hand compactor. Then level the foundation surface with a shovel and, if necessary, fill it in so that it is level with the ground surface.
6. We stretch and tighten the cord that will keep the wall of the wall flush. Spread the prepared masonry mortar on the foundation with a shovel and level it with a trowel. Then we arrange the stone blocks. The first layer should be placed with particular care.
7. The back of the wall is secured with a shuttering board. Place the next blocks on the mortar, tapping them with a rubber hammer.
8. Grout the finished wall with mortar and leave it to dry.
The ground of a garden situated on a slope should be very stable to prevent landslides. Adequate protection is provided by deeply rooted plants and retaining walls. Such structures are made of various materials, incl. gabions.Stone-filled mesh baskets form a retaining wall that absorbs the ground pressure of the higher part of the garden.
For the wall to perform this task well, gabions must be of the appropriate size and weight, taking into account the forces acting on the wall. Stone baskets are simply a dry wall, the shape of which is kept by a strong and stiff mesh made of galvanized steel wire. The appearance of the stone wall can be adapted to the surroundings.
