Care of velvetle
Velvet is one of the plants, the cultivation of which does not cause any problems, but it provides a lot of joy. Fast growing plants can be kept in check by pruning. This is done in spring or fall. The seedlings take on easily and develop quickly, hence it is easy to obtain new specimens for planting.Slightly woody apical shoots cut in August take root no worse than soft spring cut shoots. The Achilles' heel of velvet is its susceptibility to aphids and the greenhouse whitefly.
In order for the velvet to bloom profusely, you need the sun. Only in hot weather, at noon, plants need to be shaded (large leaves quickly evaporate water, which worsens the condition of the plants). The hotter the heat, the more water they need. The root ball must not dry out under any circumstances. From May to September, we feed the plants weekly, in winter it is enough to feed them once a month. In autumn, the pots are placed in winter quarters before the temperature drops below 5 ° C. We overwinter in a bright room at a temperature of 12-20 ° C.
Zaślaz in residential cultivation The cultivation of exotic plants is associated with specific cultivation conditions, which is not always so simple due to the unpredictable aura in our climate zone. In the case of velvet, the cultivation is very favorable. In summer, the plants can be displayed on the terrace or balcony, and in the apartment in winter (velvet is an excellent indoor plant). Velvet trees kept at temperatures above 15 ° C bloom all year round. Plants should be placed on bright window sills.
