It is fully frost-resistant and belongs to the plant frost-resistance zone 4.
Plant the cress in early autumn or springIf.webp the plant is to be used as an infestation, it is important to plant a cress plant with a proper spacing. Depending on the variety, 10-12 pieces are placed per square meter.
Caring for a cockerel is simpleand does not take much time. If, when preparing the position, we took care to enrich the soil with organic fertilizers, such as manure or compost, then the plants do not need to be additionally fed during the growing season. Plants on less fertile soil should be fed 2-3 times a season with universal mineral fertilizer.

It is important toregularly remove weeds in the cultivation of coconut shrimps. However, we must be careful when doing this, because the plant has shallow roots and its root system can be easily damaged. In this situation, it is particularly advantageous to mulch the soil with bark, sawdust or fermented compost. The mulch will reduce the growth of weeds, reduce water evaporation from the soil and, by decomposing, enrich the soil and improve its structure. It is true thatKokoryczka will withstand a short-term drought , but it should be kept moist enough and if necessary, water it regularly.

Kokoryczka - diseases and pests

Coconut trees are quite resistant to diseases , especially fungal diseases. However, a common problem that we can encounter are larvae of Hymenoptera -Lily of the Valley ulcer(Phymatocera aterrima), the caterpillars of which can strip the plant very quickly. Caterpillars feed on the leaves from May to June. They hibernate in the soil.

As soon as we noticecaterpillars on the cockchafer , we can use natural means to combat them, preparing our own decoction of mugwort, chamomile, yarrow or tansy. We can also use green potato leaves, pouring 1.5 kg of green mass with about 10 liters of water and leaving it for 3-4 hours. Spray the prepared preparation every week until it is done.
If there are a lot ofcaterpillars , you need to use insecticidal plant protection products, such as: Karate Zeon 050 CS, Karate Gold or Deltam.
