What determines the choice of a terrace surface?

The construction of the terrace should begin with considering its location in the garden space. It is not without significance whether it will be adjacent to the facade of the house as a natural transition between the living and recreational space, or it will become an island hidden among the greenery of the garden. The location of the terrace in relation to the house affects the type of terrace structure and the selection ofterrace surfacesthat will cover this place.

When we plan a terrace right next to the house, we can afford more exotic materials forterrace surfaceand sophisticated designs. In this way, you can maintain the style of the interior of the house, adjust the terrace to the appearance of the floors or window joinery. The terrace located inside the garden will be made of more natural materials, produced in a traditional way, which will better fit into the garden space full of green plants. Also the area intended for the terrace must be properly adapted to the size of the building and the garden.- For a family of four to feel comfortable, we only need a 4x4 m terrace. It can of course be larger, but remember to keep the right proportions - emphasizes Błażej Korzeniewski, Plastivan technical advisor.

Advantages and disadvantages of terrace surfaces

Wherever we plan to build a terrace and whatever its size - probably the most important element of preparation for the implementation of our project will be the choice ofmaterials for the terrace surfacein terms of their physical properties. As the surface of the terrace is exposed to the destructive activity of changing weather conditions all year round, the material we use must be highly resistant to rain, wind and frost. - Moisture is most dangerous for wood, for materials such as stone and ceramics - the temperature is around 0 ° C - informs Błażej Korzeniewski from Plastivan.
Most often asterrace surfacesuses ceramic tiles or wooden boards. The former are easy to clean, the latter - a natural, warm look. Unfortunately, the advantages end there. Even frost-resistant tiles often crack, especially when we are dealing with such a harsh winter as last year's. On the other hand, wooden boards quickly lose their color, rot when exposed to moisture and crack, and above all, they require cumbersome and costly maintenance at least once a year.

Thanks to the Duofuse system, the installation of the terrace is very simple

Aesthetic and durable terrace surfaces

Therefore, it is worth taking a look at other materials available on the market. A composite board made of a combination of plastics and wood flour can be a good compromise. In the process of producing composite profiles, the material combines with wood particles and binds with them in a permanent manner. Thanks to this technology, terrace surfaceis created with a solid and aesthetic appearance of wood, and at the same time having the desired properties of plastics. An example can be the Duofuse boards - they are resistant to harmful weather conditions, they do not fade or soak up water, and are not susceptible to mold, fungi and pests. Moreover, they are characterized by high resistance to cracking and wear, and most importantly - they are environmentally friendly. Also, their care does not require much attention - it is enough to wash them once a year with water with the addition of a weak detergent. An additional advantage of these boards, which will be appreciated by parents who care about the safety of their children, is their grooved, non-slip surface.

Terrace surfaces are easy to install

The Duofuse product is a solution dedicated to anyone who appreciates easy and quick installationinstallation of terrace surfacesBefore starting the installation on a concrete terrace, check the slope, which should be 1 to 2% ( i.e. 1 - 2 cm per meter of terrace length). It is very important for the proper drainage of rainwater. System joists should be laid every 40 cm and fixed to the base with expansion bolts. On such prepared joists, you can install the boards themselves, connecting them with special clips. Thanks to them, the boards will be at a distance of 4 mm from each other, which is important due to their expansion under the influence of changing weather conditions. The space between the boards also allows water to drain away and the snow to melt evenly. Finally, the edges ofof the terrace surfaceshould be finished using a composite plinth. - In the case of a long terrace, where long boards should be joined, you can also try to connect using other techniques, e.g. by arranging a mosaic similar to cobblestones or by placing one board vertically in relation to the others. The results may turn out to be very attractive - adds Błażej Korzeniowski.
Durability, easy assembly, and good appearance of the Duofuse system are its main advantages, allowing for wide application not only asterrace surfacesbut also in the construction of stairs, footbridges and platforms. The advantages of this product are currently enjoyed by, among others, clients of SPA RESORT in Jelenia Struga and Dr Irena Eris Spa in Wzgórze Dylewskie and residents of the exclusive City Park in Poznań.
