The golden exterior with chrysanthemums

Table of contents

The choice of chrysanthemums is really huge and varied. The flower baskets of many varieties consist of nicely colored outer lingual flowers that surround the center with yellow tubular flowers. Andother gildings delight with full, single-color, multi-colored flowers or shades of one color.

Their shoots form a more or less dense clump decorated with lots of larger or smaller flowers. The color spectrum ranges from warm, saturated shades of red and brown to fresh white and lemon yellow tones.

Chrysanthemums are most often sold as single pot specimens, but mixed pots are also becoming popular. In one container, gardeners plant three plants with harmoniously selected flower colors.Such a composition, possibly transplanted into a suitable container, is ready to be placed in the chosen place.

Here, plants sprinkled with abundance of buds will please us for many weeks with their busy blooming flowers.Cultivars with compact habit and the smallest flowers are the least sensitive to external factors. In places exposed to wind and rain, large-flowered chrysanthemums are the most vulnerable to breaking shoots.

Careful care promotes long flowering. It is important not to allow the soil in the pots to dry out.At the same time, remember that excess moisture is harmful and, especially now, when the nights are already cool, it can quickly lead to root damage and rot. Fertilization is usually not necessary.

Autumn secret garden

Chrysanthemums can probably survive a warmer winter. To protect them from frost, the pots should be covered with protective foil or other insulating material and placed in a place sheltered from cold wind, e.g. by a house wall. Plants can be transplanted after flowering for a bed, but it is best to wait until spring to do this.

Blooming chrysanthemums stay in a vase for a very long time.A plant that blooms profusely in a bed or in a pot, carefully cutting a few shoots will not hurt.
