A green oasis of peace

Garden work lasts almost all year round. When mowing the lawn and weeding the beds, you quickly forget about everyday problems and piled up tasks. Keen gardeners know how easy it is to achieve peace in the vicinity of plants, and not only when sitting on the terrace. Doctors also discovered the beneficial power of green around us long ago. For example, growing plants, started with sowing seeds, helps in depression. It allows - with little effort - to uninterrupted and fairly quick viewing of the effects of your own work, from the emergence of seedlings to harvesting.

Time to relax

In the garden, we not only work, but also relax, so we should find a place here for such leisure activities. If it's too noisy on the family-controlled terrace, let's look for another corner in the back of the garden. Here we can set up a deckchair to, for example, read your favorite book in peace or have a cup of tea.

You can also feel good about meeting and talking to friends. It is worth separating the garden space that is designated for social purposes from the rest by planting plants or decorative partitions, and instead of wicker furniture that is not resistant to weather changes, use those made of plastics. Such armchairs can remain outside without the need to constantly bring them in and out of the house. In addition, the place where the furniture will stand should be hardened, because too intensive use of this space will cause the ground substrate to be damaged.

Another idea is to install hammocks that make us feel comfortable and light in them. You can hang them on well-seated tree trunks or, if you do not have such a possibility, on the built-in hammock frames. It is an ideal solution for both children and adults looking for peace and quiet.

Green carpet

The heart of almost every garden is a large surface of the lawn. The sight of such an emerald and soft carpet has a calming effect. It is also an element that effectively introduces space to our green kingdom. In order for the lawn not to require too burdensome care, when setting it up, we should usegood quality seeds of grass varietiesgrowing slowly and forming a turf with a dense weave.

Color therapy

A good rest in the garden also depends on the carefully selected colors of the plants placed in the flower beds. It is worth limiting this palette to a few colors and their shades, because the sight of multicolored flowers may be tiring for some eyes.Even two colors create an attractive plant arrangement. For example, a few purple-blue tones of bellflower, sage, and delphinium flowers go perfectly with the white shades of blooming gypsophila or flame.

For growing in flowerbeds in the place of rest, chooseflowers with delicate colorsThe colors - pink, white, blue, light yellow and lilac - are calmer than fiery shades of orange or red. However, the most important for our well-being, the best stress reliever after an exhausting day, is green. Therefore, do not forget to reserve a space in your garden for plants with ornamental leaves, such as Heuchera cranberries, Hosta funkii and Carex sedges.

Plants to soothe the senses

The source of wonderful fragrances in the garden are, for example, the flowers of the bloody cosmos atrosanguineus with a strong chocolate aroma, many species and varieties of roses, as well as blooming jasmine. The velvety leaves of Stachys byzantina or the silky mullein Verbascum bombyciferum are very pleasant to touch. On the other hand, the sense of hearing will gently soothe the stalks of bamboo or Chinese miscanthus moved in the wind. If we additionally plant these grasses in a place with a pond or a gurgling mouth of water, e.g. a small fountain, it doesn't take much to have a great rest in the garden.
