One spring it turned out that in the middle of the lawn, where the snowman used to stand, there are unsightly gaps. So I decided to set up a discount at this point. I gave it the shape of a circle with a diameter of about 2 meters. I lined the edges of the flowerbed with stones. In the first year, I planted it with annuals, but in the following seasons I started to change its appearance and play with plant species.
Arrangement to welcome spring
One year I made a typical spring arrangement on this round discount. Of course, I planted the bulbs of the plants in advance, i.e. in the summer and fall of the previous season. There are yellow and white crocuses, turquoise sapphires, blue squirrels and red and pink tulips. I wanted the composition to be as colorful as possible.
Full summer, or annuals go up!
Plants blooming in spring, despite their charm, have one drawback: they are quite fragile. In order for my flowerbed to look equally attractive in the full season, I plant annual flowers on it. My signature composition is the one depicted in the photo. On the very edge, in a circle, there are marigolds in colors from golden yellow, through lighter to darker shades of orange. The next circle is the luscious red shiny sage. The closer to the center, the flower circles become brighter. The last three batches are begonias - white and pink, and blue lobelia. In the center of such a summer discount, I usually have either a dahlia or a sunflower. One larger plant is exposed by colored wreaths from the remaining flowers.
Colorful until frost
My discount is also amazing in the fall. There are marigolds that bloom for a very long time, but also various colored asters - both single, full and winter-hard.
