Together with my wife Alina, we are retired, which is why we jokingly call our garden "grandparents' garden". It is unlike any other - warm, with its own soul, and practical at the same time. It obtained its present form in 1995 and was created as a result of merging three adjacent plots.
When designing the enlarged garden, we were primarily guided by the desire to create a nice and practical space. We wanted to avoid planting under a string. So we planned irregular discounts consisting of many species of trees, shrubs and flowers. In this way, a real thicket was created.
Plants, judging by their appearance, the condition of flowers and fruits, feel good with us. Taking care of our garden consists mainly of weeding, fertilizing and watering if necessary. Digging up the ground is impossible due to the bulbous flowers.
Every year we have a lot of good fruit: wild strawberries, currants, American blueberries, raspberries, apples, peaches and pears of the 'Conference'. Alinka and I make delicious preserves, frozen foods, compotes, ratafię tutti frutti from some of them, and we give some to our daughters and friends. I must admit that these delicious crops from the garden attract many guests to us. It makes us very happy.
Herbs also grow in various parts of our garden, incl. savory, lovage and mint, which my wife uses in the kitchen.
For grandparents like us, moving in the garden, outdoors, is recommended. Moreover, it gives us great joy. After working all day long, we like to relax in our lounge corner. Sometimes our granddaughters will visit us and then it is really fun.
