Advice: reasons for hydrangea not blooming

Table of contents

1. Over-frosting of the plant- hydrangea blooms on last year's shoots, i.e. those parts of the plant that are most exposed to frost during winter and those that may be damaged by spring frosts.

If you are looking for ecological methods for pests, diseases and plant slurries, we recommend:

2. Incorrect pruning- cutting this year's growths with flower buds that would bloom the following year in the fall.

3. Too much shade- it inhibits the development of flower buds.

4. Too alkaline reaction of the soil- it contributes to the poor development of the plant, the leaves turn yellow, it is the so-called leaf chlorosis. Too alkaline soil reaction reduces the absorption of iron from the substrate, and iron is the main component of the green pigment (chlorophyll), which is responsible for photosynthesis.

5. Too dry substrate- inhibits plant development.
