P:I grow a Nutcaya cypress in my garden, which is not very impressive, but I have a lot of heart for it, because after a long illness he recovered and began to grow intensively. It turned out that his trunk was broken. The wound has healed, but the trunk looks like the letter V.
Can one trunk cut off, or can he use a dump to obtain a second specimen, or leave the cypress as it is? But what to do to prevent the trunk from splitting a second time? I would like to replant it, but I don't know when - in spring or autumn?

O:The Nutcracker Cypress Chamaecyparis nootkatensis is a beautiful, vigorously growing, long-lived large tree.Such extensive damage to the trunk may lead to the tree splitting in the future.Wearing an elastic band around the trunk and tanning the tree may help, but not for its entire life.
You can remove one part of the stump and protect the wound against diseases by rubbing it with the agent. You have to take care of such a tree.If it is planned to transplant it to another place, it must be sheltered from the winds, because the tree, due to the damaged trunk, is much weaker and may break during the recent strong winds that haunt us. It can be overused in March.
Conifer care
After transplanting, remember to sunbathe and water abundantly, and do not neglect this treatment throughout the spring, ensuring average humidity conditions for the cypress. In summer, during long hot weather, you should also remember to water.
