April in the orchard and vegetable garden

Table of contents

SAD

FERTILIZING TREES

We regularly water and feed newly planted trees and shrubs. You can spread a layer of manure under the young trees or sow nitrogen-containing mineral fertilizers.

CARE OF BLUEBERRY

Rake the old strawberry leaves and dig the soil shallowly around the bushes. We remove the excess runners.

CUT VINE

April is the deadline for pruning vines. Late pruning causes the plant to cry hard, causing the sap to leak out.

VEGETABLES

WEIGHING THE VEGETABLES

We start systematic weeding of the vegetable garden. Wild-growing weeds appear within a few days in warm and humid spring weather.

SPONGE ONION

You can plant onions with spring onions and cloves of garlic. We plant potato and shallots bulbs and horseradish root cuttings. Blown up chives, seven-year-old onions and rhubarb can be propagated by dividing them into smaller parts (with buds and root).

SEED INTO THE GROUND

We sow the seeds of most types of vegetables: lettuce, radish, dill, parsley, carrot, peas, broad beans, onions, spinach, red beet.

SPLITTER

At the end of the month, we can set up a seedbed on the plot, where we will produce vegetable seedlings for summer and late harvesting, e.g. cruciferous, pumpkin, lettuce.
