" - Thousands of people from all over Poland took part in both editions of Adopt a Bee, and it is their commitment and great hearts that have made Polish bees live better. Of course, there is still a great deal of work to be done and we need to continue working for the bees. To do this effectively, scientific research is necessary to determine more precisely what problems honey and wild bees face in Poland, what is particularly harmful to them, what affects them well and how people can conduct their activities so that bees they hated it.We will answer these and many other questions thanks to the Great Inventory of Pollinators. - said Katarzyna Jagiełło, coordinator of the Adopt a bee campaign in Greenpeace Polska. "

The Great Pollinator Inventory is a research project using the mechanisms of citizen science. Each participant of the action will be able to join the scientific team and study bees together with scientists. Thanks to the Great Census, it will be possible to check the number and occurrence of various species of bees, as well as to find out what their condition is. The research will help to determine what is particularly harmful to them and what conditions are most suitable for them to live and work safely.

Research as part of the Great Census of Pollinators will be conducted by Maciej Ziemiański from the Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw (scientific partner of the action) and Dr. Anna and Dr. Lech Krzysztofiak, who are associated with the Wigry National Park on a daily basis, founders of the Man and Nature Association. The research content is also supervised by Professor Włodzimierz Celary from the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.

The first research stand of the Great List of Pollinators was established in the garden of Królowa Bona in Jazdów in Warsaw.

" To take part in the Adopt a bee campaign, go to the website www.adoptujpszczole.pl and virtually adopt any number of bees. "

" Thanks to the first edition of Adoptuj a Pszczoła, we managed to raise funds for the construction of 100 hotels for solitary bees and wild pollinating insects in 16 Polish cities. In the second edition, last year, Greenpeace collected almost PLN 150,000 for the reconstruction of the bee population in Przyczyna Dolna (Lubuskie Voivodeship) and activities related to the protection of pollinating insects, including planting honey trees and shrubs, and training for farmers. During the second edition of the action in Warsaw, a city garden for bees and people was also created. It was the largest crowdfunding campaign in Poland in terms of the number of supporters - virtual bees were adopted by over 8,000 people, and the assumed goal was achieved over two weeks before its end, and it was 120%!
