It blooms nicely in pink, but it is valued primarily for its he alth properties and application in herbal medicine. Czystek - Cistus incanus
Cistus is considered to be one of the most potent herbs. The most importanthealing properties of the purge are based on its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. It is possible thanks to the flavonoids contained in the herb. The cleansing significantly improves the body's immunity and helps in the fight against colds and flu.Regular use of cleansingprevents the appearance of wrinkles on the face, and helps young people fight acne or other skin problems.
The source of the healing properties of purgeis also the extremely high content of antioxidants, which reduces free radicals. However, it is an exaggeration to say that purges cleanse the body of toxins or heavy metals, which is often repeated in advertisements for purges based on purges. There is no scientific research on this, so don't believe everything the purge sellers say.
How to apply purges?
In order to take full advantage of the properties of a purge, it should be taken daily as an infusion.Cistus dried water is poured over with boiled water (2-3 tablespoons pour 1 liter of boiling water) and brewed for 2-5 minutesAfter cooling, we can drink it, adding a little lemon and honey to improve the taste. The cistus infusion itself, however, has a rather delicate flavor and can also be drunk without additives. In my opinion, it tastes better than green tea, and has several times stronger antioxidant effect. For the full effect, we drink tea from the purge 2-3 times a day.
It has been scientifically proven thatregular drinking of the infusion of the purge significantly improves the functioning of our immune systemThe visible effects of the purge can already be seen after about a month of regular use of this herb. It should be noted, however, thatcleansing has a preventive effectand strengthens our immune system, rather than healing. It is worth supporting yourself with a purge infusion, but you should not overestimate the potential of this herb.
As I mentioned in the introduction, Cistus is a plant from the Mediterranean region, where there are high temperatures and plenty of sunlight. Therefore, purging is not resistant to long-term frost and, unfortunately,in Poland, cultivation of purge in the ground is not possibleHowever, this herb can be successfully grown in a container, providing all its requirements.
Cultivation of purging in a potrequires good drainage, therefore a thick layer of broken clay pots or expanded clay should be poured on the bottom of the container. The land should be light, well-drained and fertile. Purges do not tolerate too high humidity, so water should never stand in a pot or a saucer. It should always be ejected from the base as soon as possible.
The position for the cultivation of the purgein the container should be sunny and sheltered from the wind. The southern exposure is a very good place.
Cistus requires regular fertilizationDuring growth (from March to May) fertilizer should be applied to potted plants, while when it begins to bloom, in June and July, we apply fertilizer for flowering plants. And if we want our purification cultivation to be fully ecological, let's apply vermicompost to herbs.
Due to the lack of frost resistance, the pots in which we grow purges should be moved to a room for the autumn and winter periodThe purge will do well in the apartment, but to provide it with a rest period, it is better to put it in for winter in a bright, frost-free room, where the temperature, however, does not exceed + 10 ° C.
If you want to increase the number of Cistus copies you have, you should propagate it from seeds.Cistus seeds are sown in the spring- in March, preferably in trays (seeds emerge quickly), and when they grow older, they are transplanted into slightly larger pots. The site should be bright, but not exposed to direct sunlight. The last replanting should be done in the target pot in summer. Adult purges do not tolerate transplanting.
