When to spray plums from worms and for disease?
Spraying plums from worms and diseasesis done in specific phases of tree development, i.e.phenological periods. These periods may fall on different dates each year, depending on the prevailing weather conditions. Therefore, it is always necessary to observe the development of trees.
We start spraying the plum when the buds are swellingby performing the so-called preventive spraying that helps to avoid the occurrence of pests. In the period before the flowering of the plum trees, we perform another preventive spraying against the brown rot of stone trees.
Additionally,intervention spraying is performed after the first symptoms appeardiseases such as plum rust or holes in the leaves of stone trees and after noticing symptoms of the pest's feeding.
How to spray plums from worms and diseases?
To spray plum against worms and diseasesyou can use chemical pesticides, ready-made preparations based on natural ingredients, as well as plant extracts and decoctions that we prepare ourselves.
The most common diseases that attack the plumare brown rot of stone trees, rust of the plum tree and holes in the leaves of stone trees.
Topsin M 500 SC can be used preventively against brown rot of stone trees and holes in leaves. Magnicur Gold and Magnicur Gold 50 WG will be suitable for plum rust and pinholes, when the first symptoms of the disease appear, from the flowering phase to the fruit harvest.
Ecological spraying of plum trees against diseasescan be done with preparations of yarrow and horsetail. We can use them to make decoctions or extracts that will help fight the brown rot of stone trees. Among the ready-made preparations based on natural ingredients, it is worth mentioning Evasiol, obtained from the field horsetail. It is worth using ecological sprays of garlic, onion or nettle on aphids.
Mospilan 20 SP will be suitable for popular plum pests, such as plum fruit or aphids, as it has a contact and systemic effect, which means that it penetrates into the plant sap and reaches the pests with them.Thanks to this, spraying plum worms will be effective even if it is not done thoroughly. On the other hand, Ortus 05 SC, when the pests appear, will be effective on the plum rust and fruit spider mite. During the period of bud swelling, it is worth carrying out the previously mentionedpreventive spraying of the plum tree against wormswith oil preparations Promanal 60 EC or Emulpar 940 EC, destroying the winter stages of pests.
