Żarnowiec - practical and decorative shrub

Table of contents

In the natural environmentżarnowiecgrows on sandy and sunny hills, overexposed forests or along roads. This is probably the effect of the fact that in the past it was sown and grown for fodder. I saw this plant for the first time in a forest path. Even then, she delighted me so much that I decided to plant her in my garden.

Żarnowiecis a short shrub that grows up to one and a half meters. It has golden yellow flowers similar to lupines. They appear at the turn of May and June, even before the plant develops leaves.Żarnowiecblooms profusely, has
thin twigs, which makes it look like a fountain gushing with gold. After flowering, it produces three-lobed, slightly mossy leaves on the underside and produces pods (seeds). It is worth collecting them, because it happened to me a few times during harsh winters that the plant froze. Then I sowed it all over again.ShrubThis shrub has intensely green, strongly branched shoots and thanks to them it looks interesting also in winter. Then, thin sticks that look like a broom stick out of the ground.

I don't have to take care ofbroomIt grows practically alone. Feels good in partial shade. The only thing you need to remember is to provide it with adequate space. Then he will be able to flourish freely. It does not require pruning like most ornamental shrubs. Apparently it can be molded, but I have never tried it. I like its natural shape.I saw varieties blooming in white and maroon in the store. However, I believe that the yellow ones are the most spectacular and the most magnificent.

Żarnowiechas a valuable advantage - it is large enough to discreetly hide any imperfections in the environment. It can be planted with conifers and rhododendrons, but I like it solo.
