I come from eastern Poland andmallowwill always remind me of my family home. They grew in every village garden, and although they were not devoted much time to them, they bloomed beautifully.
After years, I moved to other parts of the country.Mallows"set out" on this journey with me and were one of the first flowers in our garden. However, it often happens that they are attacked by rust and I would like to suggest to readers what can be done to regain their he althy appearance and not get sick.
First of all, withMalw rustit is worth fighting in a team and in the neighborhood, because no fence is a barrier against thisfungal disease If you notice yellow dots and brown globules (fungus spores) on the underside of the leaves, the affected parts of the plant must be removed. In the fall, we simply have to get rid of the sick mallow in its entirety. Samosiejki from it are also already infected and you should not make new seedlings from them.
In June, we sow the seeds to a new place. Mallow will bloom next year, but in this season it is worth spraying it with garlic preparation(250 g of ground garlic per 10 liters of water).

GARDEN RECIPE
Mallows (or marshmallow) are perennial flowers, but they bloom most beautifully
in the second year after planting. After this time, it is worth renewing them. Plants will also take care of it themselves, because the seeds grow self-seeding. However, when the mallow is attacked by rust, i.e. a fungal disease, we must apply radical methods.
Infected stems, leaves and dying plant fragments should be removed and the mallow should be sprayed with appropriate preparations. These can be, for example: Topsin M 500 SC, Dithane Neotec 75 WG, Score 250 EC or Baymat AE. However, we should remember to use the preparations interchangeably, not limiting ourselves to only one of them, and to change the place of cultivation of the mallow in the next year.
