1. The sieve will be 1 m wide and 1.5 m high. First, we make two identical frames to fit adjacent to each other. We start with measuring 4 letters 1460 mm long and 4 960 mm long.
2. Use a jigsaw to cut the slats to the correct length.Smooth the cut surfaces with a file or sandpaper. This is needed not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to avoid cuts.
3. Place the cut slats in the shape of a frame so that the side of one slat overlaps the front of the adjacent one. There is still time to flatten out any unevenly cut edges.
4. We connect the slats of both rectangular frames at the corners with single nails. They will achieve the final stability of the frame later after fixing them with screws.
5. We spread the wire mesh on one frame (it's best to do it for two). Its roll is about 1 m wide.A 150 cm long section should be cut with wire shears.
6. Fasten the net to the frame with upholstery staples. We nail them in several places. It's best to use a taker. The 19x19 mm sieve will efficiently screen the finest compost.
7. Put the second frame on the frame with the mesh. It should be turned so that the contact points of the slats in the corners do not overlap. The frames should be exactly flush.
8. Both frames are connected with 4x40 mm screws. We place them approximately every 20 cm.18 screws are required for the longer sides, 8 screws for the shorter sides.Screw them in carefully so that the boards do not crack.
9. The screen support consists of two 1.50 m long slats. For connection to the frame, hinges 32x101 mm are used, fixed with 3x25 mm screws to the ends of the slats.
10. Two strips of the support are connected with hinges with the longer sides of the composite frames. Fasten each hinge with 4x40 mm screws. Before that, check how the hinge is folded.
11. The supports will be stiffened and reinforced with a crossbar that connects them.Fasten a 92 cm long strip with two 5x80 mm screws. Before that, we drill holes for them with a small diameter drill.
12. Chains on both sides connect the screen frame to the supports. Shortened to the assumed length, they maintain the optimal angle of inclination and do not allow the entire structure to fall.
13. The chains are screwed to the sides of the frame and crossbars with 4x40 mm screws secured with washers. The mounting height depends on the adopted inclination angle of the screen.
