In March, not only onion species bloom, but also early perennials, such as buttercups, daisies, violets and primroses. Within a few weeks, they will show a wonderful range of various forms and colors that can be perfectly used in spring arrangements.
A wide range of plants allows not only to choose your favorite species and varieties, but also to freely implement various color ideas. You can create compositions in strong shades of colors as well as in pastel tones. If, after the winter months, we feel unsatisfied with colors, let's try saturated, multi-colored combinations.Bright yellow daffodils, red tulips, orange buttercups and blue violets will guarantee a cheerful, invigorating mood of the surroundings. If we want to achieve a strong, unique effect of freshness in mixed compositions, let's try to limit ourselves to two colors: blue and white or yellow and white.
We will compose decorative groups very quickly with daisies and tulips. Place the blooming plants in decorative casings and place them on the garden table or on the balcony window sill.
In order for flower arrangements to look nice and bloom longer, they should be properly cared for. Pots and containers in which we will plant flowers must have drainage holes and drainage so that the root ball does not soak up too much water. When growing plants in containers, you should also remember to water them regularly, because the substrate dries out faster here than in the bed. If we want to grow spring plants also for the next season, we should regularly feed them with fertilizers for flowering plants.
Bulbs bought at a florist and cut early in gardening are not doomed to the fate of annual species, as they may bloom next year. Just after flowering, take the onions out of the pots and replant them to the garden bed. Thanks to this, we have at our disposal containers for other plants decorating the balcony or terrace, and we will provide the bulbs with good conditions for stockpiling for the next season. Cut the leaves of bulbous plants when they are yellow-brown and begin to dry. Leave the bulbs in the bed or dig up and store them in a cool and dry place until autumn, when it is time to plant them.
