Growing marigolds - a pot from a bathtub

Table of contents

Each of us would like to give our garden a unique look. Sometimes we lack inspiration, so I would like to share the idea of using an old, galvanized bathtub.

Which soil and plants to choose for planting?

I filled the vessel with fertile, peaty soil. Since the tub is quite large, I decided to plant several plants of the same species in it. My choice fell on the C altha palustris, popularly known as the marigold. It is a flower that likes wetlands very much. I decided to provide it with conditions similar to natural ones, and that is why I always water it abundantly.

The best choice - marsh marigolds, or marigolds

Wanna is now three years old. During this period, the plants have grown well and decorate the garden with their flowers. In my country, the mud blooms much earlier than in the natural environment. It pleases the eyes from mid-March.

Marigolds still look good after flowering thanks to their shiny, stiff leaves. The swampy corner also attracts visitors - it is a favorite place of several local frogs.

In the care of such a composition in the bathtub, the most important thing is to replenish the water to the height of the emerging flower and leaf shoots. Before the period of severe frosts, it is not necessary to perform any protective works. Marigolds withstand long winters perfectly.
