Christmas decoration on the door - diy

A wreath made of several readily available materials can be hung both on the inside and outside of the entrance door. Well attached, it will remain intact throughout the holidays.

To do this, you need:

  • a few long willow branches,
  • a few twigs of fir, spruce, pine or Douglas fir,
  • strong string,
  • colored threads,
  • hot glue gun,
  • a few sprigs of fresh or dried hawthorn,
  • a dozen or so cones,
  • cinnamon sticks or dried oranges (available in fragrance blends),
  • cotton twigs,
  • dried yarrow (optional),
  • anise stars,
  • dried grasses.

1 step

Roll willow twigs so that they form a neat circle with a diameter of25-30 cm in diameterAlternate a few twigs to strengthen the whole structure. Tie a double loop with a string in several places. Remove any dried needles from the branches of any chosen tree and shake off excess sand or other impurities.

With the woody tip cut to form a shank, point towards a circle made of willow. Press so that it hangs between a few twigs. Gradually add more green branches. Direct them so that they form a circle along the willow branches.

2 step

Then heat the glue in the gun. Set aside and wait. Glue together smaller pieces of twigs or leftovers to give the whole wreath density. Try not to leave threads of glue on the remaining green parts - this will spoil the final result.

Add fresh or dried hawthorn twigs to the wreath, spacing several centimeters apart. Put them in several different places. You can strengthen them additionallywith thread or glue .

3 step

Prepare cinnamon sticks andanise stars . Tie a string to them and wrap tightly. Attach the spices in several places with it. If you are using dried oranges, hang them on a string so that they dangle slightly from the wreath or stick them to green branches.

Put the cotton twigs inside - adjust the amount to your preferences. They can protrude slightly from the reed or blend in so that it is slightly obscured by fir. Finally, fill in the gaps with blades of grass, dried leaves or pimple.

4 step

After securing the whole thing with extra linen or jute twine, make sure that all parts are properly glued or tied together if it is to hang on the door. If you want the wreath to be more effective, use glitter spray or artificial snow.
