When it's spring outside the window, we are glad that the plants are growing nicely and blooming beautifully.Unfortunately, then various diseases and pests also have excellent conditions for development.I would like to present to all readers my proven and used for years ways to get rid of some of them.
Prevention
- These flies hate the smell of lavender.A few shrubs planted in flowerbeds are enough to protect our favorite flowers.
- Marigolds are as effective as lavender. Their intense aroma deters not only aphids, but also other pests, such as nematodes and voles. It is especially important to plant marigolds next to tomatoes. These flowers have an impact not only on their he alth, but also on their maturation.
- Trees in your orchard will be less susceptible to aphids if you sow rout around them. It produces a bitter substance that leaks into the soil. The tree takes it with the water. Its juices change their composition and they no longer taste good for these pests.
Fighting
- As soon as the first specimens appear, rinse them with water and a little washing-up liquid.
- Spray the infected plants every day with the cooled nettle infusion until it is successful. It can be prepared from fresh herb or from nettle tea.
- Let's let ladybugs - natural enemies of aphids into the garden. To attract them, spray the plants once a week with sweetened water (half a tablespoon of sugar per liter of water).
- From the preparations available for sale, we choose those agents that do not harm ladybugs.
Prevention
- First of all, keep order, eliminate plant debris, and dig the ground. These treatments make it difficult for rodents to settle.
- In the vegetable beds, let's plant mustard seeds and garlic, and plant the imperial crown or an incarvilla in the beds. The voles hate the smell of these plants.
Fighting
- Put a few twigs of black currants, thuja, spurge, elderberry leaves or crushed garlic cloves into the burrows. The smell from them should discourage moles and voles.
- Make holes in the ground and insert the plastic bottle diagonally as far as possible so that the neck is on top.The sound of the wind blowing into the dish will surely scare away unwanted guests.
- Seed dressing before sowing with preparations.
- Planting onions between the rows of these vegetables.
- Cover emerging plants with non-woven fabric to prevent butterflies from accessing them.
-Sowing this vegetable for a late harvest, i.e. in the second half of May or at the beginning of June. Thanks to this, we will have the first flight of lilac butterflies, which takes place at the beginning of May .
