Lawn losses
In spring we often have to repair holes in our lawns. In such a place you can:
I use the latter method. I cut a new turf from a piece of lawn from a roll I bought at a gardening store, and put it in the place of the damaged one. To accurately determine the shape of the piece of turf I need, I use a paper or foil template, redrawn according to the shape of the damaged spot. I cover the places of connection with soil and, if necessary, sow new grass in them.I try to water the repaired piece of lawn regularly.
Flower islands on the lawn
I also like very much when colorful islands of bulbous plants bloom on my lawn in spring. First, I choose a place to plant them. I cut the sod in the shape of the letter H, and then open the "patches". I loosen the soil and add the appropriate fertilizer. I put the bulbs in, remembering about the planting depth for each flower. Then I cover the turf patches. I never mow the lawn in this area until the plants have bloomed and the leaves have turned yellow.
Here are some names of flowers that are suitable for setting up such "islands":

RECIPE FOR THE GARDEN Flower isletsis a way for cavities
The idea for flower islands is a bull's eye, but for such "naturalization", typically ornamental, short-cut lawns are not suitable. A better option is a grass area in a wildflower garden or unmown grass under a tree. Only some bulbs are viable enough to compete with grasses. They must be low so that they do not hurt the site, and frost-resistant to survive the winter. In the case of autumn-flowering species, mowing the lawn should be stopped from September to allow for the killing of their shoots. Onion plants (e.g. scallions, ranches, sapphires) look nice under trees, but the tree coverings must be sparse for the plants to develop properly.A good solution is also to plant a few bulbs (e.g. daffodils or tulips) in perennial beds dug in the lawn. Then we also plant flowering plants all year round on such an island.
