Szydlasty phlox - plants for rockery

Table of contents

Sycamore phloxesare known by several names: low, carpet, sent, turf, creeping. Their flowering cushions create beautiful colorful carpets that retain their charm even after flowering, and even in winter.

Turf phloxescome from North America, where they grow in light forests on dry, sandy soil. Here they grow up to 10 cm in height. The stems of these plants are acicular and grow rapidly. At the turn of April and May, they are covered with countless, tiny flowers, creating fabulously colorful compositions.

Sea phloxesare most often pink, but there are also varieties and hybrids with flowers: dark pink, magenta, white, flesh-colored, with a dot in the middle, blue, purple, up to blood-red.

Phloxeseasily multiplies by dividing clumps or from herbaceous cuttings. Thanks to its low structure and numerous, intense colors, it is a favorite plant in rock gardens. The more so because it feels best on rocky, sandy soil, in sunny and warm places.
