Vermillion nodule is a disease that affects all deciduous trees and shrubs. In the case of older trees and shrubs, only some shoots are affected, while in the case of younger specimens, their death may occur. Infection most often occurs through wounds, which is why it is so important to protect wounds after cuts or other mechanical damage. In the case of infection from the root part, the symptom of infection is leaf dieback, and then the younger and older shoots. White rot is visible on the cross-section of diseased shoots. Infection occurs when the roots of a he althy plant come into contact with the roots of old infested trees in the soil.Importantly, trees growing under stressful conditions, such as drought or urban conditions, are more susceptible to infection. The disease is prevented by removing infected shoots and creating optimal conditions for plant growth and development.
