Step 2 - preparing paper tubes for the Christmas tree

We start our activities by making paper tubes, it is from themwe will weave the entire Christmas tree .

For this purpose, we can use pages from a colored newspaper or unnecessary white A4 sheets. Fold the A4 sheet into 4 parts and cut it. We wind the strip of paper on the toothpick, which we place at a slight angle in relation to the paper - as shown in the pictures above. We twist the toothpick with our thumb so that the paper starts to wind up on it.
This is not an easy task, but after a few tries it is easy to feel how the paper yields to the toothpick. After winding the tube, glue its end with glue. Then remove the toothpick from the tube.
Forpreparing a Christmas tree from paper wickerwe will need about 44 tubes. It is worth folding two tubes into one, then a long tube will be created and the weaving will become easier.

Step 3 - How To Make Paper Wicker Christmas Tree Base

The next step will bepreparing the base of the whole Christmas treeTake three paper tubes and fold them (photo 2), two in the X mark, the last one on the mark. Then stick another tube under the left, lower arm of the X mark - give it number 1. Place a paper cone on the prepared structure and start weaving. Place the right lower frame of the X mark (No. 2) on the adjacent frame (No. 3) and do this with each next arm, i.e. No. 3 to No. 4, No. 4 to No. 5, etc.The base of the Christmas tree will take the shape of a hexagon.

Step 4 - weaving a Christmas tree from a paper wicker

When we have prepared the base of the Christmas tree, we start weaving the entire structure. At the beginning, we extend the arms of the base with paper tubes. Weaving is a repetition of step 3. We weave each arm counterclockwise (photo 3). It is important that each interleaving tube touches the side of the paper cone. We weave the Christmas tree to the very top.

Cut the bottom of the Christmas tree and take the cone out of it. Glue the ends to the bottom of the Christmas tree and cut it off after drying. Finally, we can spray the Christmas tree with a spray, decorate it with beads or a ribbon.Paper wicker Christmas treeis ready! And if someone seems too complicated or time-consuming to make a paper wicker Christmas tree, among these types of decorations it will be easier to make a Christmas star made of paper wicker.
