Outdoor wood preservativesare used to protect furniture and wooden structures that are exposed to changing weather conditions, such as temperature changes, strong sunlight and rainfall. Outdoor wood preservatives protect garden wood against rotting, rotting and cracking. Seewhich wood impregnation to choose outside , which affects the effectiveness of the impregnation and how to use wood impregnations.

Outdoor wood preservativesallow you to effectively protect wooden structures in the garden and garden furniture against the harmful effects of insects, fungi and fire.To obtain full protection of furniture or elements of small garden architecture, it is necessary to apply the impregnating preparations correctly, in accordance with all the manufacturer's recommendations.
The effectiveness ofwood impregnations outsidedepends to a large extent on how deeply they penetrate the structure of the wood from which wooden garden furniture is made, pergolas, trellises and trellises, fences and gazebos decorating the garden. Therefore, it is important to properly prepare the elements to be impregnated. Wood prepared for protection should be cut to the desired dimensions so that its further processing does not remove the impregnation layers. It is also extremely important that the wood is properly dry, because the impregnants penetrate well into the material with a moisture content not exceeding 30%.
You cannot save on securing wood. Regardless of which method we applywood impregnation outside(by dipping or with a brush), the amount of the preparation recommended by the manufacturer should be used for impregnation. Therefore, it is very important to calculate how much impregnation will be needed. To do this, multiply the wood surface by the required dose.
- For example, if we want to impregnate 100 square meters of material with a preparation with a recommended consumption of 20 grams per square meter, we have to prepare a solution of 2000 grams, i.e. 2 liters of the agent on average. If the manufacturer recommends diluting in a ratio of 1: 9, 2 liters of impregnation should be dissolved in 18 liters of water - explains Jacek Goszczyński, Product Manager of Selena.
It is worth remembering that not everywood impregnationdiluted 1: 9 has the same efficiency. From 5 liters of such a concentrate, 50 liters of a finished solution can be made. However, if the recommended consumption of the agent is 20g / m², we can secure 250m² of wood with this amount. For the same surface, twice as much preparation is required with the recommended consumption of 40 g / m². If, due to wrongly understood savings, we apply a smaller dose, the wood will not be properly secured.
Modernoutdoor wood preservatives , such as eg Tytan Professional, cannot be washed out. However, to allow the preparation to fully bond with the structure of the raw material, after impregnation is completed, it is necessary to dry the wood for 1-3 days in a ventilated, roofed place. Properly applied Tytan Professional impregnation will protect the timber of the roof truss for up to 100 years!
