In the early spring, Promanal allows you to fight against the wintering stages of pests from the June group, such as cuplets, scales and mealybugs

What pests does Promanal fight

Promanalis a protective preparation used against spider mites, aphids, bowls and ocher, both on fruit trees and ornamental shrubs and trees. It allows you to safely combat these pests in home and allotment gardens as well as on organic farms.

Promanal 60 EChas a contact effect. During spraying, the active substance of Promanal, i.e. paraffin oil, covers the still wintering stages of the pests with a thin layer, which hinders their respiratory processes. As a result, the pests die as a result of suffocation.
It should be remembered here that with the preparationPromanalwe fight only the wintering stages of pests, most often eggs or early larval stages. It is not suitable for combating adult forms in the full growing season.
Therefore, it is extremely important to performPromanal sprayat the right time.If we are unable to buy Promanal 60 EC in the early spring, we can replace it with other preparations based on paraffin oil with a similar range of use, e.g. Treol 770 EC or Catane 800 EC.

With Promanal we fight the gaiters, which cause the formation of characteristic conifers on the twigs, the so-called galls

When to use Promanal

Ecological insecticide Promanalshould be used from the end of winter through early spring to destroy the wintering stages of the pest. It is best to spray the paraffin oil contained in Promanal from the end of February to mid-March, i.e. from the stage of bud bursting and swelling to the beginning of flowering. It is not recommended to use this preparation on leafy plants due to the symptoms of phytotoxicity (the formation of brown spots on the leaves, which fortunately is not dangerous for the plant, it only looks bad).

Note! The air temperature during the Promanal spraying must be positive, and preferably at least 5 ° C (some sources even recommend a temperature of as much as 12 ° C).

If the temperature drops significantly below 0 ° C on the days immediately after spraying, the effectiveness of the treatment is reduced. Therefore, before spraying with Promanal, it is worth checking the weather forecast for the next few days and making sure that the temperature remains positive.

How to spray Promanalem

Promanal 60 ECis sprayed with a liquid with a 2% concentration. This means that 20 ml of the preparation should be diluted in 1 liter of water. Spraying is carried out with a suitable sprayer, remembering to thoroughly cover all branches on the sprayed trees and shrubs with the liquid. When preparing the liquid for spraying and performing the treatment, all precautions required for the use of plant protection products should be followed.

Co instead of Promanal 60 EC

More and more often we get questionswhich instead of Promanal 60 ECcan be used in gardens. You ask what are the bestreplacements for Promanal 60 ECand what to choose if you cannot buy Promanal in the store. A justified question, because when we recently wanted to order another delivery of this preparation to the store of our guide, it turned out that it was no longer available. Apparently, the manufacturer withdrew and Promanal will no longer be there.
Fortunately,is an excellent replacement forin the form of the natural preparation Emulpar 940 EC. It is a preparation based on Polish blackberry oil (oil obtained from a plant called flaxseed).
Replacing paraffin oil, which was in Promanal 60 EC preparation, has a significant advantageWell, Promanal 60 EC could only be used during the plant dormancy, mainly at the end of winter and early spring, when there were no leaves on the plants. Promanal used during the growing season could cause phytotoxicity symptoms in the form of discoloration on plant leaves. Emulpar 940 EC is free from this disadvantage and can also be used during the growing season when there are leaves on the plantsTherefore, we recommend Emulapr 940 EC to all gardening enthusiasts.
