To prepare the nettle manure, we need : 1 kg of cut nettle, 10 liters of water and a plastic bucket. Place the cut nettle in a bucket, pour water over it and let it ferment for one to two weeks - depending on the weather (high temperature will speed up the fermentation process). Once a day, we thoroughly mix the contents of the bucket, which allows you to speed up the fermentation process.
Nettle fertilizer for tomatoes during fermentationgives off a pungent unpleasant odor and foams a lot. Therefore, it is worth adding rock flour to it, which will soften the strong smell of the liquid a little, enriching it with potassium. Bas alt flour is perfect for this purpose.Blooming valerian plants will also help to alleviate the smell.
When the nettle manure stops foaming, it is ready to use. So preparedfertilizer from nettles for tomatoes should be used only after diluting with water in the ratio 1: 10 . After dilution, the tomatoes are watered with this fertilizer every two weeks.
Remember! When watering tomatoes with nettle manure, always dilute the solution in water. You can fertilize your tomatoes with the slurry without dilution!
