Yarrow spraying - slurry
Ingredients for yarrow slurry:
- kilogram of fresh yarrow herb,
- 10 liters of water.
Manure preparation:
- We prepare the slurry in a large glass jar or in a bucket with a lid.
- Put freshly harvested yarrow herbs and pour 10 liters of water.
- Leave for about a week and close with a lid.
- Once the slurry has stopped fermenting, it is ready to be sprayed.
- Just dilute it with a little water before use.
- It is a great remedy for fungal diseases in peaches, plums and cherries. It's also a good way to get powdery mildew, which usually appears on cucumbers. Another proven method is whey spraying, which is very popular with gardeners.
Yarrow spraying - decoction
Ingredients for the yarrow decoction:
- half a kilogram of fresh yarrow herb,
- 10 liters of water.
Preparation of the stock:
- Put the yarrow herb in a pot and boil it in 10 liters of water over low heat for about half an hour.
- We wait for the brew to cool down.
- Then strain the yarrow herb and pour the liquid into a jar or bucket.
- Such a stock should be used within a few days - keep it in the shade or tightly closed in the refrigerator.
- It will work as a plant protection agent against pests - if you want it to stay longer on the surface of plants after spraying, just add a small amount of potassium soap.
- It is an effective remedy for aphids, spider mites, honeys and thrips.
Yarrow spraying - infusion
Ingredients for yarrow infusion:
- 2 handfuls of dried yarrow herb,
- 2 liters of water.
Preparation of the infusion:
- Dried yarrow herb put into a pot and pour boiling water.
- Cover with a lid and wait 10-20 minutes.
- After cooling, the brew is ready for use immediately - it cannot be stored for too long.
- It is an effective remedy for thrips, caterpillars, aphids and honeys.
- As in the case of the decoction, it is worth enhancing its effect with potassium soap.
- Also serves as a protective agent for cruciferous plants or strawberries.
