Heathers perfect for fringing
I was looking for an idea for a discount border for a long time. I thought I would surround them withheathersandheathersThe idea turned out to be right, because these plants emphasized their shape nicely. They also go well with other perennials and shrubs, such as rhododendrons, azaleas, squid and pierises.
Workplace preparation
Before planting the bushes, I prepared themacidic substrate , because I read that they had such requirements.Wrzoścegrow strongly, so I arranged them in groups of 5-10 pieces and at intervals of 25 cm.Now, after a few years, fused into one clump, they create colorful spots in various shades - green, yellow and red. I sprinkle the spaces between the bushes with fine
bark. Such a litter not only looks aesthetically, but also retains moisture in the substrate. This is important becauseheathershave a shallow root system and excessive evaporation can harm them.
Winter protection
Before winter I cover mymoorlandwith pine needles and lightly sprinkle it with peat. I do not forget that such cover must be airy so that the plants do not rot.
Cutting
An important procedure that I always remember is cutting. It is necessary for the proper development of shrubs.Heatherstrim in April, andheathers- right after fading (usually in May or June).
Which genres to choose
I chose individual plant species and their varieties so that they bloom virtually all year round. In February, heath 'Winter Beauty'Then, in the spring, I can admirebriarandmarshyandbruxelliaLater in the seasonheatherSome begin flowering in July and bloom until autumn.
