I really like wicker in the garden. It is a natural material, therefore it harmonizes well with plants, and at the same time does not dominate them. I use wicker baskets as covers for flower pots. And some of them I just cover with foil and plant flowers in them. In such woven containers, geraniums and pansies look very nice, and heathers also look beautiful.
In my garden, wherever I can, I put up wicker fences, bundles of branches or large braided balls. Decorations of this type look especially beautiful in English, perennial, rustic and romantic gardens.They create an impression of lightness and give any space an idyllic character. They also look great in combination with wood and clay, for example pots or pots.
Wicker is not a very durable material. However, properly secured, it can serve for many years. To extend the life of this type of decoration, I keep it indoors in winter. In my case, it is an outbuilding. I am not only securing sheaves in any way. They stand in the garden all year round and still look good.
