Charming celery in discounts

Table of contents

The colorful madness of the late spring this year is over, but new flowers are still appearing in the garden beds. In the warm rays of late summer sunlight, characteristic delicate inflorescences open up fennel, fennel and Eryngium. In the celery family (formerly umbellate) we can find other, late but beautifully flowering plants decorating flower beds at the end of the garden season.

They are joined by some species from different families with quasi-baldach flowers, such as Eupatorium fistulosum, yarrow and verbena. However, the external qualities of plants are more important than the degree of kinship. The fennel, reaching over 150 centimeters in height, and equally impressive lovage, are a great decoration for a herb bed.

Charming and hardy

The appearance of a perennial bed is not always determined by the size of the plants. For example, the delicate charm of flower umbels, as if accidentally scattered over the entire surface among other species, is of great importance. Ammi majus and the slightly more magnificent Egyptian Ammi Visnaga, from which toothpicks were used in the Orient in the past.

Lush dahlia flowers or tall, slender panicles of Salvia nemorosa sage, Linaria purpurea, Linaria purpurea, Veronicastrum and Himalayan knotweed Bistorta amlexicaulis contrast beautifully with the delicate hemispherical or plate umbels.

The combinations with star-shaped flowers of rudbeckia and echinacea, shared Helenium and perennial sunflower are also full of charm. The combinations of umbels with grasses are less colorful, but very effective.A beautiful duo is created, for example, by a purple plant and Korean diamond grass, i.e. the shorthair reed Calamagrostis brachytria, as well as the Egyptian amine plant with Pennisetum alopecuroides. In addition, at the end of summer, wonderful yarrow and Echinops ritro appear as charming neighbors at the flowerbed.
