A proven method for an easy garden

Table of contents

Experienced lovers of greenery have their own ways to make gardening faster and easier. The simplest solution is to give up extravagant arrangement ideas. You also need to unconditionally recognize the soil and light conditions on the plot; who knows them, will more accurately match the needs of plants to the local environmental conditions. It is not worth rushing into deep water, let's start with the lawn and a small flower bed.

We should enlarge the assumption gradually as we gain new experiences. Cover crops can be grown in critical areas, which are always overgrown with weeds. It will save us a lot of work related to weeding. The path should be separated from the lawn with a curb, which will significantly reduce the spread of weeds.

Undemanding discounts are those inhabited by slow-growing woody plants and a few perennials which, growing in groups, create a calm, harmonious picture. Perennials are not planted anew every year, therefore they develop a stronger root system and better withstand periods of prolonged drought (better compared to flowering annual species). For us, this means less watering.

With proper planning and selection of plants, even a large garden can be easy to care for. Keeping the terrace or path clean will be easier thanks to a special Teflon-coated cube. Such surfaces are more resistant to dirt, therefore they need to be cleaned less often.

One cannot escape from duties, however, because even in modestly arranged gardens there is something to do.However, you must always measure your intentions, because nature can be uncontrollable and unpredictable; it is impossible to stop the migration of weeds and the wind blowing leaves.

Checked and undemanding

Ornamental trees that do not require pruning include: palm maple, Japanese maple, ornamental cherry, ornamental apple tree, all types and varieties of magnolia. The catalpa 'Nana' and the robinia 'Umbraculifera' are also worth recommending, as they retain the spherical shape of the crown without being trimmed.

Some shrubs are best not to be trimmed at all. These include, among others witch hazel, Japanese viburnum, hazelnut and Kousa dogwood of the Chinese variety. Also, trim the evergreen rhododendrons only superficially, usually to give them the desired form.

Some roses clean themselves. The best example is the snow-white variety of 'Escimo'. Even more interesting is the pink flowering small bush rose 'Larissa', which sheds a flower stem with the entire flower. In other words, the summer cut becomes superfluous.

Long-flowering perennials, such as rudbeckia, whorl, scabiosis, bay leaf and geranium look attractive for many months. Importantly, they do not require many care treatments during this time.

Long-lived perennials, such as daylily, peony, funkia, branching aster and forest perennial, can be grown in one place for several years. Before planting, it is worth planning the correct spacing of the seedlings. This will provide the right space for the clusters of individual plants to grow.
