Smagliczka may have various forms of growth, from low-lying to branching upwards. It grows so densely that it effectively inhibits the growth of weeds. Its height, depending on the species and variety, ranges from 20 to 40 cm.From April, yellow flower clusters form on long stems, floating like pillows over gray-green leaves.
Smagliczka prefers sunny positions and feels best in neutral to alkaline soil. It is best if it is permeable.
The optimal spacing between plants should be 30-40 cm.Although the smagliczka is not a thirsty plant, it should be watered regularly for the first two weeks after planting.
The plants' demand for nutrients is small.Still, they can be recharged from time to time (to prevent shedding leaves). The dragonfly is drought-resistant.Water it only when the ground surface is dry.Regular pruning after flowering ensures that the plants maintain their regular habit. In Poland, the smagliczka is winter-hardy and does not need to be sheltered from frost.
Smagliczka can be grown in pots.It looks good in rockery, growing in gaps between stones.
Due to the interesting color contrast, the dragonfly is exceptionally successful in plantings with a guinea pig.
