Tree inspection before the new season (Tip)

Table of contents

On the occasion of spring cutting, when it warms up a bit, it is worth doing a spring survey of fruit trees and shrubs. Cool weather and a large amount of rainfall meant that the trees were exposed to unfavorable factors for many months. It is in winter that a large amount of wood contamination occurs.Water often accumulates on older branches, in the bifurcation of the limbs and cracks in the bark, causing contamination with pathogenic fungi or bacteria.

Stone species, such as peaches, cherries or plums, in particular, are susceptible to pathogens. When contaminated, trees defend themselves by secreting a characteristic sticky substance similar to resin.Leaks of yellow or orange rubber, referred to as gumose, are a signal to us that an unfavorable process is beginning that must be counteracted. The easiest way is to excise the entire infected area down to he althy tissue. If the rubber is leaking profusely, cut the branch completely.

When cutting trees, we also pay attention to any mechanical damage caused by heavy snow. We protect the resulting wounds with fungicides. We can use special agents in the form of paste or liquid, which are easy to apply to the wood.We perform all tree cutting care works on sunny and warm days.
