For three years, Greenpeace has been working with thousands of people from all over Poland to make the life of bees in our country better and better: that they have a safe place to live and reproduce, and that there are as few harmful substances as possible in the environment.Thanks to "Adopt a bee", research on pollinating insects is ongoing all over Poland, checking what harms them and what is beneficial for them.During these three years, a great movement of thousands of people actively helping bees has arisen.It is also the largest crowdfunding project in Poland in terms of the number of participants.

- Thanks to participation in the "Adopt a bee" campaign, everyone who cares about the protection of pollinating insects is building a bee-friendly Poland. This is especially important, because we owe bees every third spoon of what we eat, and farmers gain over PLN 4 billion a year from their work - said Katarzyna Jagiełło from Greenpeace. A bee-friendly Poland is a people-friendly Poland, and our country has a chance to become an example for the whole world on how to effectively care for bees. Polish society is already working to protect them.

As part of the 4th edition of "Adopt a bee", activities will be carried out to make the bees' life better. It is worth remembering that pollinating insects are extremely important not only for almost 90% of wild plants in our climate zone, but also play a key role in agriculture. Apart from individual actions, systemic changes are also important.In winter, decisions on permits for the use of pesticides particularly dangerous for bees will be made in the European Union. opt for solutions that are good for bees.

The priority will be to support the development of agriculture free from the most dangerous substances for honeybees and wild pollinating insects (including pesticides from the neonicotinoid group) and to control the presence of these substances in the environment, as well as to provide bees with access to a diverse food base and safe places to shelter. The Great Pollinator Census will also be continued, i.e. a bee research project conducted in cooperation with scientists.
