PiO: is it worth scarifying the lawn?

Table of contents

Q:Is the scarifying treatment really that good for the lawn?

O: The scarifying treatment is really beneficial for the lawn, especially the one with a lot of so-called Felt, i.e. plant remains stuck between the blades of grass.Scarifying is to prevent the formation of such a felt.

This treatment involves cutting the turf vertically, which ventilates the root layer and stimulates the upward movement of grasses, combs out plant residues that choke the grass and disturb the water circulation. Scarifying is carried out on older, i.e. several-year-old lawns at least once a year.

The optimal date is March-April or August-September.It is carried out on a dry, low-mowed lawn. Then the lawn should be raked and fed. You need to mow the grass on too stripped fragments.
