Spets are the smallest mites (from 0.08 to 0.30 mm), therefore their presence on the plant is initially determined on the basis of damage. To get a closer look at the pests, you need to reach for a microscope.Spettles have a characteristic elongated (worm-like) shape and two pairs of 6-membered legs. So far, over 120 species of these commonly occurring mites have been found in Poland.

As a result of feeding, various forms of leaf discoloration, stains, silvering and filing are formed, as well as bud swelling and sprouts on shoots and leaves. The reason for such changes is the toxic effect of the saliva introduced into the plant tissues during the feeding of the mites.

Saliva contains substances that change the level of growth regulators in the plant.Spets are only phytophages, that is, herbivorous organisms. They often live and develop on only one plant species, and this, combined with specific feeding symptoms, is extremely helpful in determining the species of the pest.

The feeding of unsightly leaves the leaves deformed and discolored, leading to their premature drop. The plant is weaker, more susceptible to diseases and attacks by other pests, and it does not tolerate the winter period well.Spets are also vectors of plant viruses, they transmit mycoplasmas, bacteria and pathogenic fungi.

In the development cycle of ugliness during the growing season, the following stages are distinguished: an egg, two forms of a nymph and an adult. The number of generations in a year varies and depends on the species of speleo.Spawls have viviparous and parthenogenesis, which allows them to multiply in enormous numbers in a relatively short time.

Natural ways to fight pests!

Pay attention to the he alth of the plant material that we buy for planting in our garden.Despite our caution, spears may appear on plants with time, because these pests are transmitted by the wind and insects.Spring is a good term for fighting streaks. The wintering stage is usually female, hidden in the crevices of the bark or in the buds.

At the turn of April and May, mites leave their winter hiding places and move to young leaves.Unfortunately, many pesticides, including mainly acaricides, which until recently were used to fight uterus, today he is no longer registered for these treatments.
