I professionally deal with landscape architecture and I make various garden designs. Recently, I have noticed a lot of interest in the Orient. So I made a garden plan in this style and I will gladly present it in the pages of "Provision for the Garden".
I prepared my design for a trapezoidal plot, because this is the most difficult plot to develop. It is characterized by simplicity and elegance at the same time. I have planned the garden to be practical and not require too many maintenance. It also guarantees relaxation and rest.
The structure of the garden consists of small trees and shrubs, fastened with low perennials and grasses. I chose plants because of the similar colors and shapes. However, I tried not to make their colors too flashy and harmoniously fit into the whole. Many plant species are suitable for an oriental-style garden. I chose Scots pine, rhododendron, smooth iris, dogwood, three-lobed honeysuckle, jasmine, sawn hydrangea, cherry, clematis, viburnum, palm maple, barbed holly and Chinese juniper. In the project, I also used small architecture - a pond, gazebo, swing and lanterns. They gave the whole oriental character.
Finally, some practical tips for those who will plan small ponds and rockeries on their plots. The pond should be placed in such a place that it is visible from the most important points in the garden. In my project, you can see them from the patio and the gazebo, and it combines both of these elements. If we want to breed fish, remember that maintaining a pond will then be more time-consuming.
The location of rocks or groups of rocks in the garden is as important as the location of the plants.A single boulder should be sprinkled with gravel or smaller stones, which will make it look as if it is growing out of a given place. Remember that you will get a better visual effect by using stones from the same rock. For contrast, you can add a few of a different kind. It is only important that there are not too many of them.
The concept of a home garden: "I believe that even in a small space you can create a beautiful garden. All you need to do is plan it well and use every centimeter effectively. An oriental garden should be simple. The plan should include not only vegetation, but also natural materials - rocks, trees, water ”. - Aneta Chmiel |
