Colors and smells
Romantic-style flowerbeds should feature flowers in certain tones. Warm and cold colors are combined in various ways to create arrangements that affect our well-being. Pastel colors are most suitable. We will achieve a harmonious composition by combining white with a cream shade with delicate tones of pink, light purple or apricot color. If we want to enliven a pastel planting, we can plant here and there plants with purely blue flowers. This will not significantly change the style of the discount, but it will create an interesting contrast.Foxgloves, bluebells, and eagles surrounded by, for example, decorative green and yellow funkia leaves are suitable for such compositions. The combination of purple and white geranium flowers, lupins and bearded irises complemented by plants with silvery-colored leaves, such as St. Nicholas, Perovskia, woolly purgatory or mugwort, which successfully fulfill the role of companion plants, also looks very interesting. The silver leaves effectively emphasize the color of the flowers and do not stand out in the composition.
Of course, a romantic garden cannot do without roses of many colors and shades. Climbing varieties are covered with arches and trellises for creepers, as well as openwork columns set on flower beds. Rose trees dominate perennial flower beds or can be planted in decorative pots.
There are also beautifully fragrant plants in the flower beds. English roses, lavender and lilies are suitable for such plantings. A note of spicy aromas will be introduced by catnip, rosemary and sage.
Discounts
The form and size of the rebate play an important role in the romantic garden. According to the rules of the art of gardening, such plantings should not be strictly boundaries. It is definitely inadvisable to arrange dense groups of upright perennials, such as flames and delphiniums. These plants should be planted in moderate numbers and preferably among smaller accompanying species, such as catnip, spotted eagle and geranium. Such perennials diversify planting not only due to their small habit, but also small flowers that clearly stand out from the magnificent species, e.g. peonies or irises.
When designing a romantic corner or the whole garden, avoid sharp angles and symmetry in the plant arrangement. We plant them in such a way that the rebates give the impression of natural habitats. This effect is easier to achieve if we break the arrangement with plants of different heights and forms of growth.Groups made up of individual species should be irregular in shape and merge freely.
" Some discounts can be framed in decorative frames, but they should not be too stiff divisions. Certain areas can be limited with a boxwood hedge or a wrought iron or wood fence. "
Paths and garden accessories
A narrow path hidden among luxuriantly flowering plants has a lot of charm, leading, for example, to a resting corner hidden among bushes. Here, under the cover of densely overgrown bush roses or lilac or jasmine, we can easily observe birds arriving or nesting in the garden.
A gazebo covered with, for example, clematis shoots and fragrant honeysuckle will also be a great place to rest. Openwork structures made of wrought iron are perfect for a small garden. If we have more space at our disposal, we can build a spacious wooden pavilion with a roof, where there will be a place for garden furniture.Decorative elements such as stone sculptures and figures, trusses and arches for climbing plants, as well as fountains and ponds also help to create a romantic atmosphere.
Peace of mind will also be ensured by shields separating from other parts of the garden or the street. These can be flowering shrubs or creepers that cover trellis structures. Sometimes you only need a bed with densely grown tall perennials, such as pink gingerbread, white blueberry, yellow mallow and pink mallow.
