WE SOW A PUMPKIN
We should sow pumpkins for the fall harvest by mid-May at the latest. In favorable weather conditions, seeds are sown directly into the ground. When the weather is bad, we start the cultivation in April from sowing seeds into pots.
MINT NOTE
Peppermint grows very strongly through stolons. To tame it, it is best to plant it in a pot with the bottom cut out.
SOW BEANS
Sowing dwarf and European beans when the temperature of the ground does not fall below 10 ° C at night. For cultivation in colder regions of the country, black-grained varieties are recommended, e.g. 'Negra', which show a much higher germination capacity than white varieties.
TIME FOR BEETS
At the beginning of May, we start sowing red beetroots. If we sow them too early, some of the plants will knock out in the so-called floral shoot.
Cucumber on the lining
Cucumbers mature better when grown on straw bedding or shredded branches. The cultivation on black foil gives very good results. The foil does not look nice, but it even doubles the yield. It is possible because the foil significantly increases the temperature of the substrate.
