To be fully happy you only need an undisturbed atmosphere: a clean furnace without unnecessary ash deposits, a clean glass that allows you to see the flame and a neat casing. Keeping the fireplace clean, contrary to appearances, does not have to be time-consuming and troublesome. If we use the right means and follow a few basic rules.
Black sludge on the fireplace glass is difficult to avoid. Knowing the reasons for the occurrence of a raid, it can be minimized. Carbon black is formed when the substances contained in it are thermally decomposed during the combustion of wood.Typical carbon black consists of carbon, graphite and residual organic substances such as grease and ash. It is sticky and very dirty. The severity of the problem depends primarily on the quality of the fuel. Dry, seasoned wood of deciduous trees should be used in the fireplace. It is equally important to keep the chimney clean.
Due to the "greasy" nature of fireplace pollutants, strongly alkaline agents are optimal. Preparation STARWAX Fireplaces express cleaning is equipped with a gun that sprays the agent in the form of a foam. As a result, the agent does not run off the vertical surface, but gradually dissolves the soot layers. After waiting a few moments, wipe the surface with a damp sponge, rinse it with a sponge often rinsed in warm water and dry it with a lint-free cloth. Metal scrapers and abrasive washers must not be used on the glass to prevent scratching.

Brick and natural stone casings should also be cleaned with alkaline agents, safe for both cast iron and stone, e.g. travertine, sandstone or marble. To prevent soot from penetrating the stone of the casing, it is worth applying a special impregnation after cleaning.
