For ten years my wife Marianna has been the happy owners of a 4 ares ROD type plot. From the beginning, we were looking for our piece of land in this area. Then we came across a rather neglectedand unfenced garden. However, a large apple tree grew there, which bloomed beautifully.
The plot also had a wonderful view of the fields, hills, meadows and forests. So we decided on it without thinking. After buying the land from the previous owner, we started to work systematically and hard. At the beginning, we fenced the area and put the so-called an outhouse. Then we built a gazebo where you could hide from rain and sun. This is where we now accept invited friends to picnics.
We put on a stone
A little later, a stone grill, a place for a fire and a swing were built. We lined the center of the garden with stones, just like the hearth. Then we built walls separating perennials, flowers and shrubs from the camping site.
Cottage for the weekend
When it seemed to us that we had everything we wanted - Marianna came up with the idea to build a small house where we could spend the weekend or receive guests there. After three years, we built our desired habitat on our own. It is not completely finished yet, but you can stay there on weekends and enjoy the beauty of nature. The morning coffee drunk on the terrace tastes delicious. Especially that we have beautiful views around.
Most of our property is decorated with conifers, ornamental trees and flowers, but behind the house there is a place for a strawberry bed. On the other side, the building is surrounded by an orchard. We also plan to build a home-made smokehouse with a fruit and mushroom drying room.
Sławomir Baranowski
A MAP of the plot has been prepared by Sławomir Baranowski from Suwałki. The plot has been divided into two parts. The first is an orchard, through which a path lined with stone tiles leads to the further, more relaxing part of the garden. There are trees, perennials and flowers, a place for a barbecue, a fireplace and a gazebo. At the very end of the garden there is an outhouse, which - although necessary, has been hidden behind the vegetation. |
